Students learn about healthy relationships, effective communication, and emotional intelligence. Through interactive activities and discussions, they explore how to navigate social situations, build empathy, and create a sense of belonging in their school community. The curriculum also focuses on engagement and wellbeing, teaching students strategies to manage stress, build resilience, and make informed choices about their mental health. Team-building exercises and collaborative projects help students develop strong interpersonal skills, emphasising the importance of cooperation and respect. |

| Mathematics Executive Teacher: Beth Bradfield Classroom Teachers: Scott Arnott, Beth Bradfield, Louise Dykes and Jarrah Westende Year 7 Semester 1 2026 Maths Outline Year 8 Semester 1 2026 Maths Outline Throughout the year, students will dive into important areas of Maths like Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability, as outlined in the Australian Curriculum. Numeracy skills are crucial, not just for Maths, but for many other subjects and everyday situations. We focus on making Maths engaging and relatable by using a hands-on approach. Practical activities and real-world examples help students see how Maths applies to their daily lives. Whether they’re measuring, building, or solving problems, students will discover the real-life importance of the mathematical concepts they’re learning. |

The curriculum covers Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences, and Physical Sciences. Students study living organisms, explore the properties of materials, examine Earth’s systems, and learn fundamental principles of physics like forces and motion. By conducting experiments, they develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Collaborative projects also enhance their ability to work effectively in teams. Ultimately, Year 7 Science sparks curiosity and fosters a lifelong interest in science, empowering students to address real-world challenges. |
| Humanities and Social Science Executive Teacher: Prue Gill Classroom Teachers: Jamie Hawke, Cath Eurell, Melinda Jenkins, Isabelle Campbell and Tobias Hughes-Brown Year 7 Semester 1 2026 HASS Outline Year 8 Semester 1 2026 HASS Outline Humanities and Social Science, also known as HASS, brings together History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship, and Business and Economics. Students explore these subjects to gain a better understanding of the world and their role in it. They’ll look at important historical events, study geographical features and how they shape societies, and learn about the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen. Students are introduced to the basics of financial literacy and how economies work. HASS is all about encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and work together, helping them connect their learning to real-world issues and global challenges. By appreciating diverse perspectives and cultures, HASS equips students to be informed and active members of their communities. |

They learn the importance of developing healthy habits and making informed choices about nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. Through a variety of sports, games, and fitness challenges, students improve their fitness, coordination, and teamwork skills. Health education covers topics like resilience, relationships, and the effects of lifestyle choices on health. Students learn to manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and understand the importance of mental health. The curriculum encourages them to set personal goals and develop confidence, helping them adopt a positive attitude towards physical activity and well-being. |
