MARSS Australia
MARSS stands for Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services. It is an organisation that provides settlement services to migrants, refugees, humanitarian entrants and asylum seekers in the ACT and surrounding regions.
Services and support
- Education Training & Employment
- MARSS offers a range of free English classes for all skill levels, training programs (both accredited and non-accredited) and supports clients to find meaningful employment in their settlement journey.
- Youth Services
- MARSS offers a range of programs for 8-25 year old culturally and linguistically diverse youth including the Healthy Eating & Active Living and Program for After School Studies.
- Settlement Services
- Our services support migrants, refugees, humanitarian entrants and asylums seekers to successfully settle in the Canberra community through casework, advocacy, and referrals.
- Housing Services
- Underpinned by MARSS’ successful “Investors Can Help” model, MARSS provides housing, maintenance, tenancy support and wrap-around services to clients settling in the ACT.
- Home Care Workforce Support Program
- In partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI) MARSS supports migrants and refugees to access a career in Home Care.
- Community Development Programs
- MARSS is committed to delivering programs that strengthen the capacity of CALD communities and families to actively participate in the Australian Community.
OneLink
OneLink provides information and connections for support services in the ACT, including services for families and young people, and services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
OneLink is a service provided by Woden Community Service with the assistance from the ACT Government in the form of funding from the Community Services Directorate.
OneLink is a key pillar of the ACT Government’s Human Services Blueprint.
Parent Line
Parentline ACT is a not-for-profit organisation offering a free confidential telephone service for parents and families in the ACT and surrounding area. Calls are answered by workers who are professionally trained to help you with information and support.
Parentline ACT assists any person who wants information or someone to talk to about parenting. You may be a mothers, father, single parent, co-parent, step-parent, guardian, grandparent, godparent, friend, carer, service provider or another relative.
Immediate counselling and support over the telephone;
- Information on other services;
- Referral to other agencies;
- Ideas and resources about parenting.
We can also arrange to talk with community groups or organisations about parenting.

headspace Canberra
headspace Canberra is a free mental health service for young people aged 12-25.
We also have dedicated workers to help you with:
- Mental health
- Education and employment
- Alcohol and drug use
- Physical and sexual health

eSafety is Australia's independent regulator for online safety. We educate Australians about online safety risk and help to remove harmful content such as cyberbullying of children, adult cyber abuse and intimate images or videos shared without consent.

Beacon App
The Beacon application (app) was developed by the Telethon Kids Institute (TKI) and provides parents and carers with trustworthy up-to-date information about online safety including resources from the Office of the eSafety Commissioner. The app can be customised to suit the needs of families by finding relevant age-appropriate online safety information and support.
