Principal’s message
Welcome to Aunty Agnes Shea High School, located in North Gungahlin, the ACT’s newest public high school for Years 7 to 10.
As the Foundation Principal, it has been a genuine privilege to lead our community through our first year and a half of operation. What began as a vision in 2024 has grown into a vibrant, inclusive and values-led school culture. Our students, staff and families have embraced the opportunity to shape something new, and the results continue to be inspiring.
Our school values, Kindness, Inclusivity and Curiosity, guide everything we do. These values are evident across our learning spaces, staffrooms and wider community. They honour the legacy of the late Ngunnawal Elder Aunty Agnes Shea, whose fierce advocacy for education, equity and community continues to shape our vision: for every student to graduate as a kind, inclusive and curious individual, confident in the knowledge they belong and ready to make a positive impact on the world.
Over our first year and beyond, we have built strong foundations for an inclusive Professional Learning Community. We have created a safe and supportive environment for all students through our Positive Education approach, grounded in the Berry Street Education Model, and through our commitment to Universal Design for Learning. These are not just programs, they are part of who we are. Co- teaching, inclusive planning and predictable routines are helping us build calm, consistent classrooms where students can engage, stretch and grow.
Our staff continue to approach this work with curiosity, collaboration and care, creating a team culture that is energised, reflective and always looking ahead. As we continue to grow, we are not just adding numbers, we are deepening relationships, building character and staying focused on what matters most: every student’s success and wellbeing.
On behalf of our team, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We are proud of what we have built together so far and excited for what lies ahead.
At Aunty Agnes Shea High School, we remain committed to Walking Together, Shaping Tomorrow. Yerrabai Galubuyi Winnyu.

Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, teach, and grow. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and we honour their ongoing connection to Country, culture, and community.
We especially acknowledge Aunty Agnes Shea, a respected Ngunnawal Elder and leader, whose legacy of wisdom, care, and generosity continues to guide our school. Her commitment to education and her dedication to welcoming all people to Ngunnawal Country are reflected in who we are and how we learn together.
We are privileged to walk in her footsteps, and we strive to live out our values each day. We show Ngidji, kindness, in how we treat one another. We act with Galubuyi, inclusivity, by learning and growing together. We approach learning with Naangi, curiosity, as we look, question, and explore the world around us.
Guided by these values, we commit to creating a space where every member of our school and wider community feels welcome, valued, and supported. Together, we live our motto Yerrabai Galubuyi Winnyu, Walking Together, Shaping Tomorrow, as we move forward side by side into a new day.
